I sat outside for a while just thinking about what had happened. The lump in my throat wouldn’t budge as I thought about having to pack up all of myt stuff. I had lived in that house for years happily and they had too. My parents loved eachother at one point couldn’t they do it again. As I dove deeper into thought a gush of wind brushed by and reminded me I was in fact outside i december. The cold I began to feel like a thousand needles penatrating my skin shivering uncontrolably I made my way back of the steps

I’m finding it increasingly difficult to write my short story. At first I thought I had a good idea but as I wrote I disliked my story greatly. Now I’m not sure what direction I should take my story once I edit it. I got really sick and left it without a real ending which was probably not a good idea. I just haven’t had the time or the energy to work with it like I would like. I ended up just writing things down. Hopefully things will come together.

Well if we’re going to be technical my first kiss was when I was like seven years old. My mom ran a day care and me and one of the boys she babysat had crushes on one another and whenever we played house we would always be husband and wife. Looking back it was pretty adorable. Anyway, one day when we were playing house he was pretending to go somewehre and asked for a kiss goodbye. I gave it to him. The only thing is I didn’t notice that some of the little girls were paying attention to what we were doing and saw the smooch. One of the girls liked him as well and would always get upset that he didn’t want to be her husband when we played house. She took that opportunity to tell my mom about what she had seen and to get quite a few of the girls to relentlessly tease me about it. My mom wasn’t as angry as I thought she would be. She just scolded me and said I shouldn’t do it again because I was too young but she explained she knew it was innocent and we were only playig. The girls were harder to deal with. I ended up getting really frustrated and tellig the boy I liked I didn’t want to be his wife the next time he asked me. I got upset and said everyone was mad at me because of him. It made him incredibly sad and things were never the same afterwords.

Point of View Reading

I decided to do my writing over the section we had to read about point of view. It made me realize just how important point of view is to a story. It can change everything. If you are writing from the point of view of a child your language and comprehension is limited, whereas if you write as an adult you have a bit more range If your story is narrirated by a person in the story you are not able to examine the characters from the outside you must rely on the discription of the character narriting. If you use an omniscient approach you are allowed even more freedom with how you write and see the characters. You are able to notice and point things out that the characters couldn’t.

Child’s Point Of Vew:
This morning I woke up to a great surprise. it was a snow day! I woke up and my dad was standing by my bed in his coveralls. I thought he might just be going out to shovel snow but I noticed my snow stuff laying out on my dresser. I was so excited! My mom made me chocolate chip pancakes and then my dad and I went outside the entire day and played in the snow. We had a snowball fight and built an igloo! It was huge. today was the best day ever!

Adult Point Of View:
I’m not the hugest fan of winter but when I was little I loved it because I thought playing in the snow was the coolest thing ever. In fact one of my favorite childhood memmories is one of a snow day. I had slept in a lot later than I normally did because my parents never woke me up. When they finally decided to my dad was standing over me in his coverals. I ate a sugery breakfast which consisted soley of Chocolate Chip pancakes. Shortly after my dad and I went out side and messed around in the snow for hours. We had a snowball fight and built an igloo. It turned out fairly well and it was a really fun day.

Spiritual Connection Nov. 22

A spiritual connection is something that is very personal. It’s not something we talk about to just anyone. It is different for each person, some are strict while others believe in nothing. I consider myself to be somewhere in the middle. I don’t go to church regularly but I consider myself a somewhat spiritual person. I grew up in a catholic household and was always taught about jesus but I was young and never had a personal expirence. When I was 11 my sister got sick with Systemic JRA and they didn’t know what it was or if she was going to survive I grew in my faith. I started asking questions. I asked questions like why my sister? If god is so good why does he allow such bad things to happen? I started to think maybe there was a bigger plan and started praying. I found the more I prayed the better things got. With each day that passed we got more and more good news. In times of turmoil it is common for people to turn to faith to carry them through, and it worked it kept me calm and everything ended up okay. Sense this I have somewhat kept up with my spiritual life but it gets difficult. Unfortunately, prayer tends to be one of those things used in emergencies only. It just gets hard to take time out of our already incredibly busy lives to remember to pray.

I decided to write about the speaker we had in class instead of a reading. I really enjoyed having the speaker because it was a nice break from the routiene. I liked hearing about some of the insperation for his writings and the ideas behind them. Also the class period went by really fast because he was reading his writings out loud.

School lunches were always gross. In elementary school we had a choice between hot lunch and cold lunch. It was like picking the lesser of two evils. My two least favorite meals were the hot ham and cheese sandwich and the shrimp poppers. The hot ham and cheese was always soggy and bland. The shrimp poppers didn’t taste like shrimp at all. They tasted like bad chicken. The only days those were good for lunch was turkey hoagie or chili day. The turkey hoagie came with chips and cheese dip and the sandwich itself tasted decent. On chili day the chili came with a cinema role which was delicious . I would always hope it was chili day or turkey hoagie day.

careers I would never want and why Nov. 1

There are several careers I would never want to have but at the top of them is a surgeon. I get queasy when I see blood so perforimg a surgeory would be near impossible. Also I’m an incredibly indecisive person so I would be horrible if it came down to the wire and I had to make a quick decision. The thought of having another human beings life in your hands freaks me out and I would never be able to think clearly. Also if someone died on my table I would be a wreck. Being a surgeon is one of the highest stress jobs and I just would not handle it well.

Chapter two: Active Voice, Signifigant Detail, Rhythem, Mechanics

This chapter was about a mix of things. It expressed the importance of using active voice. Using active voice is much more affective than passive voice. It keeps you in the present. It also makes your papers less boring. Using signifigant detail is also important. You don’t want to talk about every little thing just the things that are signifigant. If you do not do this you could lose your readers interest. Mechanics are what is important to the techincal part of the paper stuff like punctuation and grammar
